Fans Relate to Dierks Bentley's Video Teaching His Daughter to Drive

Dierks Bentley took on a challenge when he started teaching his eldest child, daughter Evalyn, to drive a car.

While the 15-year-old, whom Bentley shares with wife Cassidy Black, was very excited about the endeavor, he seemed cautious, at least according to a clip he shared of an early lesson on social media. Bentley posted the video on his Instagram feed on Tuesday, Oct. 24, writing, "Driving lessons with @eviedayb8 begin 🤦‍♂️."

In the clip, Bentley began by sharing his anxious face as Evalyn went over where the brake and gas pedal were. The singer-songwriter put a hand over his face before showing his feet, asking, "Where's my brake?"

Bentley then directed his daughter to put the car in drive, although she initially had some trouble as she hadn't pressed the brake while doing so.

Cautiously, they approached the road, with Bentley advising Evalyn to look both ways, adding, "You gotta turn the wheel to make it go the way you want it to go."

As Evalyn finally got onto the road, she appeared to giggle nervously, saying, "This is so cool. This is so cool!" Bentley calmly replied, "It's really cool," while showing the camera his wide-eyed look.

Both Miranda Lambert and the CMT account commented, "😂."

Fans enjoyed the fun and sweet father-daughter moment and joked along with Bentley. "He was like 'but what was I thinking,'" said one, as a second commented, "HAHAHA! I just laughed way too hard at the, “Yeah, it’s really cool 😳” At the end 😂😂😂."

Many parents related to the struggle, with comments like, "Try a manual transmission. It’s a whole new level of parental stress," and "Teaching BFF your child to drive is the most unnatural, terrifying aspect of parenting. I have PTSD 💯."

Bentley's song "I Hold On" was referenced a lot, while plenty of fans wished the singer good luck with the driving lessons. He probably needs it, as he has two more kids to teach after Evalyn, with another daughter named Jordan, 12, and a son named Knox, 10.
