Fans Are Calling For Scott Frost’s Job After Awful Performance vs. Illinois

Just a few hours ago, Nebraska athletic director Trev Alberts told ESPN’s Gene Wojciechowski that Scott Frost isn’t “coaching for his job” this season.

However, just one game into the 2021 season, Alberts may be wishing he chose a different tone. During Saturday’s game against Illinois, the Huskers jumped out to a woeful start.

The team allowed the first points of the game on a safety. After that, though, the team bounced back with the next nine points to take a 9-2 lead. Unfortunately, the Huskers offense stalled and the Fighting Illini rattled off 28-straight points.

Nebraska found back valiantly, cutting the lead to 30-22, but just couldn’t close the gap. Following the game, fans rushed to Twitter to criticize Nebraska head coach Scott Frost.

Fans know that Frost probably isn’t receiving the kindest well wishes on social media after his latest loss.

Fans knew Frost was on the hot seat entering the season, but now they’re legitimately wondering if this will be his last season in Nebraska.

Frost falls to 12-21 over his first three seasons – and a game – as the head coach at Nebraska. That’s just not good enough for a program with a history or competing with the best teams in the country.

Frost and company created recruiting powerhouse at UCF, but haven’t had the same success with the Huskers.

Can he finally turn things around?
