Washington Wizards star guard Bradley Beal hasn’t requested a trade, but his latest Twitter post has NBA fans awfully confused.

Beal only posted the thinking emoji this Wednesday afternoon, which then led to a ton of trade speculation. Fans are already linking him to the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors.

Shams Charania of The Athletic recently reported that Beal has been “on the fence” about his future in the nation’s capital. The latest report from Marc Stein, however, made it seem like the All-Star guard is committed to the Wizards.

“The Wizards agreed to the Westbrook trade, believing it would enhance their chances of Beal committing to a long-term extension to stay in the nation’s capital rather than hasten his exit,” Stein said.

In the event that Beal truly wants out of Washington, there’ll be a handful of teams lining up for his services. The former No. 3 pick has cemented his status as one of the best scorers in the game over the past few years.

Last season, Beal averaged 31.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game for the Wizards. Despite his incredible production, the Wizards had just a 34-38 record.

Beal is currently under contract for this year and has a player option for the 2022-23 season. If he wants to remain with the Wizards, he could sign a five-year deal worth $235 million next summer.

Do you think Bradley Beal will stay with the Wizards for the long haul?
