For dogs who like to go with their owners everywhere they can, it can be a challenge to find new places to visit. There are plenty of outdoor spaces where pups can run to their hearts' content, but when it comes to indoor spots like cafes, options are more limited.

In New York City, the Museum of the Dog is one of those dog-friendly spaces that pet parents may not even know about. This dog-centric gallery features a store, a cafe, and tons of exhibits featuring man's best friend, and one Internet-famous pup couldn't miss out.

Ollie the Maltipoo visited the Museum of the Dog alongside his owner, and they looked like they had the best time! They shared a bit about their visit in a fun late February video, and it's inspiring other dog owners to book a visit, too.

How cool! If you didn't even know that this museum existed, you're not alone. Despite being in the same spot as the American Kennel Club headquarters in New York City, many pet parents are finding out about the place for the first time--myself included!

"Ollie will soon be the main exhibit at the museum," commented @kevintramer_. I don't think anyone would argue with that! This famous dog's picture already appears on a few of the museum's gift shop items, so that would be the natural next step. Besides, he's already found his twin in a painting!

Ollie the Maltipoo pup is the perfect pint-sized museum companion, but you can bring any dog to the museum's twice-a-month 'Furry Friday' events. These events happen on Friday evenings two times every month, but if you visit during regular museum hours, you'll have to leave your furry friend at home. Service dogs, of course, are allowed in anytime!

Finding Dog-Friendly Things to Do

The American Kennel Club's Museum of the Dog might be a great rainy-day destination for pet parents, but it doesn't give dog owners many options to bring their fur babies along. So where can you bring your dog when you're looking for something different to do?

Large cities like New York City are hubs for dog and cat cafes, but they aren't your only option, either. Plenty of small businesses allow dogs to come inside, though you could always call ahead and ask. In general, however, your best bet could be restaurants and cafes with dog-friendly patios.

In fact, Ollie and his human visit all kinds of dog-welcome spaces in NYC! Creators like him are great resources for finding new things to do with your pup--getting to see that adorable doggy face is just a happy bonus!
