KAUKAUNA - Named after co-owner Noe Garcia's parents, Patty & Pablo's | A Family Restaurant, brings cuisine with both Mexican and American flavors to Kaukauna.

The new restaurant opened its doors at 145 E. 2nd St. in Kaukauna on Saturday, inviting new customers to try it's authentic, yet unique cuisine.

Garcia, a first-time restaurant owner for his family, works alongside his parents whose love for cooking is where he got his inspiration from his parents love for cooking.

"My dad has been working in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, and when we were in Mexico, my mom used to sell gorditas, which are on our menu," Garcia said. "I've always had a very entrepreneurial spirit, so we always wanted to make it work."

Garcia said it was important to him to have a balance of classic American dishes alongside the Mexican dishes he offers.

Customers can enjoy classic breakfast meals like brioche French toast, pancakes and waffles with different toppings including fresh fruit and in-house made cajeta.

"Cajeta is a caramel made with goat's milk as opposed to cow's milk," Garcia said. "It's actually a delicacy where we're from in Mexico and we make it ourselves here at the restaurant from scratch. It's something that we're really proud of."

Other breakfast items include chilaquiles, tortilla chips topped with eggs, salsa, queso, refried beans and crema and huevos rancheros, two eggs on a corn tortilla with salsa, avocado, green onion and refried black beans. Customers can also build their own omelets.

The lunch menu includes appetizers of fried cheese curds, chips and guacamole and a hot cake, a pancake topped with diced jalapenos, powdered sugar and a lemon wedge. Customers can choose from traditional Mexican dishes like a gordita, sope or tacos with a choice of meat. Sandwiches and salads are also available.

Garcia said he is excited for customers to try the fresh-squeezed orange juice and the hibiscus tea that's made daily. The restaurant also offers a unique iced horchata latte.

"Because this location was previously a cafe, we have an espresso machine that we are grateful for inheriting so we have a few cafe items as well as Mexican sodas made with real cane sugar," Garcia said.

Patty & Pablo's is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays.
