Family farm park welcomes baby reindeer
A baby reindeer has been born at a popular family farm in Cumbria.
The calf was born on 30 April at Walby Farm Park, near Carlisle, and after building up a bond with her mother, she has just been released into the paddock
Farm owner Neil Milbourn said: "There aren’t many reindeer born in the UK each year, so we’re very fortunate to welcome this little one into the Walby family."
Visitors are also being offered the chance to name the animal.
She takes the number of reindeer at the farm up to four, joining Savanna, Olaf, and her mother, Anna.
"The calf is absolutely beautiful and is already quite a character so I’m sure she’ll keep Anna, and us, on our toes," Mr Milbourn added.
"She’s definitely the noisiest calf we’ve ever had and likes to shout for her mum."
Mr Milbourn added the winner of the competition would gain a pass to one of the farm's festive events, as there is "nothing more festive than a reindeer."
