Family of late Chiefs receiver Otis Taylor will be drum leaders for preseason game

Chiefs fans remain hopeful that former star wide receiver Otis Taylor one day will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Taylor, who died in March, was named a Senior Semifinalist last month for the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2024. That moved him one step closer to enshrinement.

Chiefs fans this weekend will have an opportunity to pay tribute to Taylor, who is in the team’s Hall of Honor.

On Saturday, Taylor’s widow, Regina, and their son Otis Jr. will be at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. They will serve as the honorary drum leaders before the Chiefs’ preseason game against the Browns.

Here is other fan information for the game.

What’s allowed in Arrowhead

Although the NFL’s clear bag policy is in place for the game, the Chiefs say fans “are encouraged to avoid bringing a bag into the stadium, if at all possible, to expedite their entry process.”

The Chiefs’ website has a list of items that are prohibited and permitted inside Arrowhead Stadium. Even though the heat wave is expected to break, fans can bring a “factory-sealed water bottle” that is no larger than 20 ounces.

Parking

Only fans with tickets to the game are allowed access to the Truman Sports Complex parking lot, the Chiefs said. The cost is $50 for cars and $130 for buses. Parking must be purchased in advance and can be done so on the Chiefs’ website.

National anthem

Daysia Reneau, who was on “The Voice” last year while a senior at Leavenworth High School, will sing the national anthem. The Clinton High School JROTC will do the presentation of the colors.
