Rahul Kohli has shared that he was among those considered for the role of Mr Fantastic in the upcoming MCU reboot movie.

In an interview with Salaam Nerds, Kohli confirmed "I do see the fan castings", before later revealing that he missed out on the iconic Marvel role.

"Look, on good days, [fan castings] are wonderful. When your mental health is good and you see people fan cast you, and they're like 'oh my God, you should be 'whoever,'" he began.

"Until Pedro Pascal was announced..." he trailed off, explaining hesitantly that "I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it".

"I nearly said something I shouldn't then," he teased, before committing to the reveal. "I didn't get it, is the point. But like I said, on good days, like I see the Constantine ones all flare up again."

Kohli claimed that he loves "all of [the fan casts]", saying they make him feel "wanted" on his "good days". He added: "You're the guy that people will shout out for anything."

"And on bad days, it's a reminder that you're not the guy. You're not there. These are the roles you'll never get. So, it's sweet and it's all perspective. It's how you feel about yourself."

Pedro Pascal was successfully cast as Reed Richards, alongside Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm).

But while Kohli missed out on the Fantastic Four role, he is keen to put his own stamp on original characters. The Next Exit actor exclusively told Digital Spy: "I have some wonderful relationships with some wonderful writers and directors who are making original stuff, doing their own thing.

"For me, working with a character that was an original, where we chose what he was like, that to me... Creating your own superhero — to me, it's the ultimate, and I've been fortunate enough to do that a few times."

The Fantastic Four is set to be released on July 25, 2025.
