Fairfax Grange to hold Harvest Dance on Friday

Nov. 2—After the success of recent shows with The Soda Crackers, the last of which drew a crowd of 150, the Fairfax Grange will host a Harvest Dance.

Friday's dance will feature music by Tony Ernst and the Desert Moon Band.

John Harrer, a volunteer at the longtime local venue said he expects the band to keep "everyone moving and grooving all night."

"They've got that hometown vibe with a little sprinkle of something special that'll make you want to kick off your boots and dance — though probably best to keep 'em on!"

Before the band plays, dance instructor Joel Hoffman will guide neophytes and experts through "the soulful geometry of line dancing."

Harrer said, "It's a free lesson that promises to turn even two left feet into agents of rhythm."

Hoffman will also teach another dance at 8 p.m.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday at the Grange, 4 Fairfax Road. The band plays from 7 to 10 p.m. Dance lessons will be offered at 6:30 and 8 p.m.

Admission is $10 at the door.
