The Fab Four: These 4 Gardner-area indoor track athletes nominated for recognition

Gardner-area indoor track and field teams performed well all season, during regular season meets and bringing the energy into league, sectional and statewide competition.

These four male athletes set themselves apart from the rest, earning a nomination for The Gardner News Boys Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year. Vote below in the poll for who you think deserves this title. Fan voting will be factored into the decision and a winner will be announced at a later date.

Jordan Baumann, Narragansett Regional

Baumann, a freshman, was the Mid-Wach D champion in the 55-meter hurdles and runner-up in the high jump. He placed third in both long jump and 55-meter hurdles at the Central Mass. Championships and sixth in the same event at the MIAA Div. 5 State Championship meet.

Jayden Brostrom, Oakmont

The sophomore was a standout for the Spartans this year. To name some of his top performances, he placed second in the 1-mile and fourth in the 2-mile at the Mid-Wach C league meet, ninth in the 1-mile at the MIAA Div. 5 State Championship meet and was a part of Oakmont's 4x800 meter relay team that finished 10th at the state meet.

Christian Altomonte, Monty Tech

Altomonte performed well this winter with multiple impressive finishes. The senior came in fourth place in the Colonial league meet and sixth place at the District E Invitational in the 2-mile as well as qualified for the MIAA Div. 4 State Championship meet.

Seth Twarog, Quabbin

The senior had several successful meets throughout the season. He placed second in the 600 meters at the District E Invitational, and 6th in the same event at the MIAA Div. 5 State Championship meet.
