F1 Dutch Grand Prix schedule: TV, streaming, odds, picks and what to watch as Max Verstappen returns to Zandvoort

As F1 finds itself in the middle of a rare three straight race weekends on the trot, reigning series champion Max Verstappen finds himself closing in on his second title entering his home grand prix in Zandvoort, Netherlands. The Dutchman holds a commanding 93-point lead over teammate Sergio Perez and is 98 clear of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc going into round 15 of 22 of the world championship.

At least until Verstappen clinches the title – and then even after – he should enter each race as the favorite and likely with a negative moneyline. That’s the case here as he sports a -175 moneyline per BetMGM, compared to Leclerc with the next-best line at +350.

Zandvoort history, layout and what to expect

Built just east of the sand dunes bordering the North Sea, Circuit Zandvoort began hosting the F1 world championship in 1952 – a race won by Ferrari legend Alberto Ascari – and did so every year but one up until 1985. The series returned on an abbreviated 2.64-mile layout just last year in a race that Verstappen won by 20 seconds from pole and lapped everyone but the Mercedes duo of Bottas and Hamilton.

Despite only one true “straight” straightaway and the short length, it does feature two DRS zones and with the 2022 cars able to follow more closely, there might be more action on track than last year’s edition, although Perez did recover from 20th on the grid to sixth in the superior Red Bull.

Dutch Grand Prix weekend forecast

The forecast calls for highs in the mid-70s with a 35 percent chance of rain for Saturday’s qualifying session. Wet qualifying could lead to a bit of a jumbled grid, but with Verstappen being as strong in the rain as anyone, barring mechanical failure, look for him to start at the top and win in a walk.
