In recent years record numbers of Los Angelians have left the City of Angels in search of more affordable destinations to call home. The Covid-19 pandemic was a driving factor for many, and Los Angeles was not the only major city to see a mass exodus. While the populations of cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City dipped, other less expensive cities saw an influx of new residents excited to put down roots. People leaving Los Angeles often sought other cities that also have warm weather all year-round and a laid-back lifestyle without the staggering Los Angeles prices. Though Los Angeles was once the one and only west coast epicenter of commerce and entertainment, this wave of migration out of the city proves that there are plenty of other metropolitan areas that have just as much to offer, and, in some cases, possibly more.
