Smith collected nearly 42% of the online votes for a total of 965 to win girls Athlete of the Week. St. Thomas Aquinas softball player Amelia Anderson finished second with 906 votes.

Newmarket softball player Lily Thompson had 207 votes, Portsmouth lacrosse player Annie Parker had 133 votes and York softball player McKayla Kortes had 91 votes, to round out the five nominees.

Smith had four hits, including two home runs, drove in five runs and scored another five runs as the Blue Hawks defeated Timberlane, 24-11, in a Division I game on Tuesday.

"Lila has worked this spring and has provided a spark to the offense," Exeter head coach Kristen Morissette said. "She had a great week ... her batting average is climbing over .400, and she leads the team in home runs. Lila puts the team success first and we are proud that she won the athlete of the week."

Piwnicki received just over 38% of the online votes, collecting 476 to earn boys Athlete of the Week. Newmarket's Jack Ferrelli finished second with 335 votes.

Portsmouth baseball player Patrick Bancroft had 214 votes, York lacrosse player Quinn Walenta had 137 votes and Traip Academy baseball player Colby Christiansen had 86 votes, to round out the top five, respectively.

Piwnicki struck out 10 batters and allowed just two hits over seven innings to lead Exeter to a 7-1 Division I win over Nashua South last Saturday.

"Cam was pretty dominant in his complete game against South," Exeter head coach Bruce Joyce said. "He attacked hitters and set the tone for us. It's great that he chipped in offensively as well. On the mound, it was great to see Cam bounce back from a rough outing against Goffstown. He had a short memory and came out strong against South. I'm happy for him winning this award, he's worked hard and is a great competitor."
