Former NBA guard Delonte West was reportedly arrested in Boynton Beach, Fla. last night after an encounter with local officers.

According to WPTV.com, officers responded to a disturbance on the Boynton Beach Police Department lobby. There, they found West “screaming profanities while holding an open can of Icehouse beer and an open bottle of Mango Vodka.”

West allegedly tried to walk away before being ordered to stop. He reportedly complied with the command to put down his containers of alcohol, but after standing back up, began reaching inside the waistband of his pants.

Police said one officer unholstered and initialized a Taser and continued to give verbal commands. Officers said West complied, dropped to his knees with his hands in the air and was handcuffed.

When they tried to secure him in the back of a patrol vehicle, they said the former NBA player “continued to be belligerent and screaming profanities and obscure rants.”

The 38-year-old West was booked on charges of resisting an officer without violence, disorderly intoxication and having an open container.

An eight-year NBA veteran who played for the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Seattle SuperSonics and Cleveland Cavaliers, West has been candid in the past about his struggles with bipolar disorder.

Back in March, it was reported that West, who had been homeless for some time, was working at a Florida rehab center. Here’s hoping that he is able to recover from his latest apparent relapse.
