Everything's Golden! Trenton Thunder going to the dogs this year

Wanna play ball, boys?

Sure you do!

The Trenton Thunder baseball team is going to the dogs. The team announced it will go by the Trenton Goldens this season as a salute to the pooches who have become a huge part of the team.

The temporary name change honors Chase, the original bat dog, as well as his son, Derby, and now Derby's son Rookie and his cousin Dash!

The Thunder will be replaced by the Goldens on June 26 for Batdog Celebration Night, sponsored by NutriSource Pet Foods, and on Aug. 18 for Bark at the Park, sponsored by Dogs and Cats Rule.

And dogs are more than welcome to come to these games, provided they're good boys or girls!

“We’re incredibly proud of our unique batdog tradition,” said Trenton Thunder General Manager Jon Bodnar. “The Trenton Goldens are a chance to celebrate these beloved pups and the joy they bring to our ballpark. This is our first alternate identity since the wildly popular Thunder Pork Roll jerseys in 2018, and we can’t wait to see the Goldens light up the Trenton sky!”
