Since Prince William and Kate Middleton got married in April 2011 (truly still think the detention I got for watching it on my iPhone during class was well worth it), the royal couple has welcomed three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

And, yes, as expected, every bit of their lives has been documented—from hospital debuts and birthday portraits to...pretty much every single hilarious face bb Louis has ever made.

Still, though, Kate and Wills have made sure to raise all three of their kids in a pretty admirable way despite the massive lens they're under. “My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect, and honesty, and I realize how central values like these have been to me throughout my life. That is why William and I want to teach our little children...just how important these things are as they grow up. In my view it is just as important as excelling at maths or sport,” Kate once shared during a 2017 visit to a primary school. 🥺❤️

Here's everything you need to know about Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis all in one place!

In December 2012, the royal palace made the truly 🤯 revelation that Kate Middleton and Prince William were expecting their first child! The couple's bb, Prince George Alexander Louis, was eventually born on July 22, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in London—aka the same location where William's mom, the late Princess Diana, gave birth to both him and Prince Harry. (JFYI, Prince George's first name is shared with his great-great-grandfather King George VI bc ~tradition~.)

“[It's] very emotional,” William confessed to a reporter he spoke to outside the hospital after the birth took place. “Very emotional. It's such a special time. I think any parent can probably...know what this feeling feels like,” Kate added.

At the time, King Charles (who btw was Prince Charles back then) said the following in a sweet statement: “Both my wife [Camilla] and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy. Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.”

Fast-forward to October 23, 2013, and the royal got christened at The Chapel Royal on the grounds of St James’s Palace. And, yes, the pics are every bit as cute as you thought they'd be. Ahem:

^ THOSE CHEEKS!!!!!

As Prince George got to his ~toddler era~, William and Kate emphasized how much they wanted to give their son as normal of a childhood as possible despite...well, despite the fact that they're quite literally part of the royal family lol.

“As far as we are concerned within our family unit, we are a normal family. I love my children in the same way any father does, and I hope George loves me the same way any son does to his father. We are very normal in that sense. There'll be a time and a place to bring George up and understand how he fits in, in the world. But right now it's just a case of keeping a secure, stable environment around him and showing as much love as I can as a father,” William shared to the BBC (via People) in an interview that marked the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth.

Re: schooling, the royal couple first enrolled Prince George at Westacre Montessori School before transferring him to Thomas's Battersea School in London in 2017. At the time, Kensington Palace released a statement that noted the couple was “delighted to have found a school where they are confident George will have a happy and successful start to his education.” First day of school pic, incoming!!!

As the royal has gotten older, we've luckily been made aware of things like his hobbies and what he's into. 🥺❤️ Per ABC News royal contributor Victoria Murphy, “He’s attended rugby, football and tennis matches publicly and, according to Kate, the family enjoys playing sports together in their back garden.” Oh, and “He’s also following in his grandfather King Charles' footsteps as a very keen painter, and the family released a beautiful painting that he did of a reindeer before Christmas last year.” S'cute!

In September 2014, a little over a year after the birth of Prince George, Prince William and Kate Middleton announced that they were expecting baby number two! Clarence House's official announcement at the time read, in part, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news that Their Royal Highnesses are expecting their second child.”

However, it was also revealed that Kate was battling hyperemesis gravidarum, which is a form of severe morning sickness that can cause dehydration and a multitude of other problems (she also unfortunately suffered from it during her first pregnancy with Prince George).

According to a statement from Kensington Palace when the news first dropped, “As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess of Cambridge is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.”

“We’re immensely thrilled, it’s great news, early days but I’m hoping that things settle down, she feels a bit better,” Prince William understandably told reporters as he updated the public on his wife (via CNBC). “She’s feeling OK, it’s been a tricky few days, week or so. I’m going to go back and look after her now.”

Charles, on the other hand, mused on his feelings about being a grandfather yet again, and told the following to the BBC: “It’s wonderful to be a grandfather again. I’m looking forward to it—but I hope it will be a girl this time.”

Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana wound up being born on May 2, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in London, and, just like her bb brother, was introduced to the world just outside the location. The royal's middle names reference her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth as well as Prince William's mother Diana, while her first name is the feminine version of Charles, which is her grandfather's.

Following the birth of Charlotte, or Lottie as her family calls her 🥺, Kate gushed about being a parent yet again. “It's very special having a new little girl. I feel very, very lucky that George has got a little sister. The Queen was really thrilled that it was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington she was one of our first visitors here,” she shared in that same aforementioned video in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday.

In 2016, Charlotte took part in her first royal tour and traveled to Canada for a week-long trip, where she met the children of military families and even spoke her first public words (“dada” and “pop pop” in case you were wondering!) while playing with balloons.

The following year, the young royal was enrolled in Willcocks Nursery School before making her way to Thomas's Battersea School in London with her brother in 2019.

^ Could they BE any cuter?!?!

Similar to Prince Louis (we'll get to him in a bit!), one thing we j'adore about Charlotte is how comfortable she is being in the public eye. Case in point? When she famously turned back to wave at photographers after Wills brought her and Prince George to meet a newborn Prince Louis in 2018.

In September 2017, it was announced that William and Kate were expecting their third child—news that made almost everyone go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prince Louis Arthur Charles was eventually born on April 23, 2018, making him fourth royal in line to the throne behind his sister Princess Charlotte, brother Prince George, and father Prince William.

Like his older sibs, Kate and William's youngest has a name imbued with special meaning and is likely a tribute to his father, whose full name is Prince William Arthur Philip Louis.

Anyway! We simply can't talk about Prince Louis and not talk about his iconic personality, which has fully made headlines countless times over the years. One of our absolute fave moments, you ask? At the 2022 Trooping the Colour ceremony when he was legit all of us during his appearance on a very royal-looking balcony. Ahem:

The moment wound up being so viral that it actually prompted a hilarious response from Kate and Wills:

“What a fantastic weekend of celebrations. Seeing people across the nation coming together with family, friends and loved ones has been extremely special,” the couple wrote in a subsequent post. “Thank you to everyone who turned out to show their gratitude to The Queen and her inspiring 70 years of leadership. From the crowds on the Mall to communities hosting street parties up and down the country, we hope you had a weekend to remember.”

The two then hilariously quipped, “We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…👀”

More recently, during Kate's 2023 Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey, Louis was snapped leaning over Princess Charlotte and blowing out a candle she was holding in the spirit of being The Youngest Sibling.™️
