Most Marvel shows on Disney+ so far have served as introductions to new characters, or transformations of the heroes we already know. For example, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier passed the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson (after a brief run with John Walker), and WandaVision turned Wanda into a darker, angrier version of herself (check out Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to see the direction that went in beyond Disney+'s story). Many of the MCU shows have been meant as limited series, and serve as a holdover until the next major movie.

So far, Loki is the only Marvel show to get the official Season 2 greenlight, probably because Loki is pretty far removed from most of what’s going on in the MCU. And other releases, like Hawkeye and Moon Knight, still have yet to get an official announcement for whether or not they’re returning for another season. Of course, Marvel has the next phase planned out, but they don’t like to give too much about it away. That leaves Ms. Marvel, which is in an interesting position.

We already know Kamala Khan is set to appear in The Marvels, the sequel to 2019's Captain Marvel, But is her character set to only appear in the movies from now on? Or is there more of an individual story to tell about the MCU’s first Pakistani-American superhero?

Here’s everything we know about Season 2 of Ms. Marvel. We’ll keep this space updated with the most up to date information.

When is The Marvels coming out?

The next place we know for certain we'll be seeing Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan is The Marvels, where she'll appear alongside Brie Larson (as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers) and Teyonah Parris (as Monica Rambeau). That movie will hit theaters just about a year from now, on July 28, 2023.

Something else to look forward to about The Marvels? It's expected to mark Nick Fury's return to the big screen, after he anchors Secret Invasion on Disney+—expected to hit our TVs later this year. We have a rule here at Men's Health, and it's that there's no such thing as too much Samuel L. Jackson. So this is all very good news.

Is Ms. Marvel Returning For Season 2?

Honestly, we don't know. Kamala's story is closer to WandaVision—in that we know we'll be seeing her soon in an MCU movie—than Loki or Hawkeye or Moon Knight—where we don't know when or where we'll be seeing these characters again. So we don't know yet whether we'll get more solo stories for Kamala on Disney+, or if her arc will continue only in the movies. However, Disney+'s language for Ms. Marvel refers to Episode 6 as a "Season Finale" rather than a "Series Finale"—which is encouraging.

In the post-credits scene for the Season 1 finale, we saw Kamala return to her bedroom. Suddenly, her bangle began to glow and in a surprising twist, she and Carol Danvers switched places! We don't know where Kamala is, or even how Carol managed to switch places with her, but it's clear the show is directly leading into The Marvels, so we'll have to wait for answers when the movie premieres in July 2023.

If there is a Season 2 of Ms. Marvel, we probably won't see new episodes until 2023, and only after The Marvels, which will undoubtedly impact Kamala's storyline.
