Buckle Up, Dolls: Hulu Just Ordered 20 More Episodes of “The Kardashians”
With everything that goes on in the lives of Kris, Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie, fans can’t help but wonder what drama and adventures we’ll see play out on the next season of their Hulu reality show, The Kardashians.
Season 2 chronicled Tristan Thompson’s paternity scandal and the birth of their son following, Kim’s relationship debut with now-ex Pete Davidson at the 2022 Met Gala, Kylie welcoming baby number two, Kourtney and Travis Barker’s multiple wedding ceremony preparations, and yes, so much more. What else do you expect?! There’s a reason the Kar-Jenners have graced our television (and laptop) screens for nearly two decades.
What will go down in season 3, you ask? And when will it be released on Hulu? Here, we break down everything we know so far about season 3 of The Kardashians.
When does The Kardashians season 3 premiere?
Season 3 of The Kardashians officially hits Hulu on May 25, 2023, per the streaming service and official teaser trailer that the Kar-Jenners shared across socials.
So, there are trailers?
Yes! On March 27, the A-list family dropped an official teaser trailer for season 3 of The Kardashians. In the 45-second clip, Khloé says, “I wish I could tell you this is going to be a mild, relaxing, serene season — it’s not.”
One month later, on April 27, Hulu dropped a second trailer, and seems to confirm that this new chapter won’t shy away from some tricky subjects. Define “tricky subjects,” you ask?
Well, the trailer shows Kim talking about her exhaustion as a result of her divorce from ex-husband Kanye West, saying that he made up “the most insane narrative” following their split. Khloé discovers melanoma (a type of skin cancer) on her face, and Kourtney accuses one of her sisters of using her nuptials in Italy as “a business opportunity.”
Kylie even addresses the rumors about what kind of plastic surgery she’s had, saying, “All of us need to have a bigger conversation about the beauty standards we're setting,” which she then follows with, “I wish I never touched anything to begin with.” 😳
Yup, it looks like we’re in for a wild season — May 25 cannot come soon enough.
When did The Kardashians film season 3?
In October 2022, Kourtney Kardashian cheekily confirmed that cameras are rolling.
“Rolling into season 3 of The Kardashians in husband’s boxers and socks with my dress…(did you see today’s episode from season 2 though?!),” she wrote on Instagram.
One month earlier, the oldest Kardashian sister revealed that they were filming. “I’ve been filming season three here,” Kourt told E! News while debuting her Boohoo by Kourtney Kardashian Barker collection in New York City on September 13. “We’re shooting season three now,” she added.
What will happen in The Kardashians season 3?
Given recent headlines about the Kar-Jenners and the official trailer drop, we can guess what will go down in season 3.
Kourtney told E! News in September 2022 that season 2 shows “everything leading up ‘till” their May 22 wedding in Portofino, Italy. Knowing this, season 3 probably begins with footage from the actual ceremony and the drama that came with it — including the fight Kourt and Kim get into. Per the season trailer, Kourtney is visibly upset with Kim, as she believes that the SKIMS founder used her wedding to Travis as “a business opportunity.”
Meanwhile, Kim broke up with Pete Davidson in August 2022, so we’ll probably see her address their split in the new season in some way. Khloé welcomed baby number two with Tristan Thompson via surrogate in July, and although we saw the baby’s birth in the first episode of season 2, we haven’t seen any further footage, or much of the aftermath with Tristan. But the NBA player makes a few appearances in the season 3 trailer, so we can assume that he’ll be included in Khloé’s storyline.
And of course, we’ll likely continue to see more behind-the-scenes glimpses into the Kar-Jenner’s growing businesses as well, including SKIMS, Kylie Cosmetics, and Good American.
Is season 3 the final season of The Kardashians?
Nope! The reality series was originally slated for 40 episodes on Hulu, but on May 16, Variety confirmed that the streamer extended their deal and ordered 20 additional episodes. Seasons 1 through 3 of The Kardashians each consist of 10 episodes. Knowing that 30 episodes have been filmed and edited so far and that there are 30 more to go, we can probably expect three more seasons of the reality show. Buckle up, dolls.
