Here’s every high school recruit Kentucky women’s basketball offered in May

Though the Kentucky women’s basketball team has its sights set on the upcoming 2023-24 season, there’s also the need to hit the recruiting trail and find future Wildcats.

Here’s a list of every recruit who has reported a UK scholarship offer on social media since the last roundup, which included class of 2024 forward Lorena Awou of East Moline, Illinois; class of 2025 point guard Caliyah “Lil Bit” DeVillasee of Baltimore; and class of 2025 forward Maya Nahar of Hudson, Ohio.

Roisin Grandberry, 6-3 F (2024)

High school: Rolling Meadows (Ill.).

AAU: Illinois Lady Lightning.

Offers: Kentucky, Saint Louis, Cleveland State, St. John’s, Pennsylvania.

Grandberry, a four-star recruit and ranked No. 72 overall in the class of 2024 by espnW, tweeted that she had received an offer from UK on May 26. Illinois Lady Lightning director Mike Seberger described Grandberry as a “great passer, shot blocker (and a) mobile trail four,” as well as a “rim protector (who) defends her position (and is) able to switch and guard guards.” Grandberry also placed 14th in the Illinois High School Association state shot put competition.

Me’Arah “Meezy” O’Neal, 6-4 SF/PF (2024)

High school: Episcopal (Bellaire, Texas).

AAU: Cyfair Elite EYBL.

Offers: Kentucky, Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, Baylor, Florida, Tennessee, California, UCLA, Virginia, TCU, Howard.

O’Neal, daughter of four-time NBA champion Shaquille O’Neal, is considered a four-star recruit and the No. 35 overall player in her class. She tweeted that she had received an offer from UK on May 28.

Naomi Benson, 6-3 PF/C (2025)

High school: Streetsboro (Ohio).

AAU: Sports City Angels.

Offers: Kentucky, Marquette, Akron, Cincinnati, Kent State, Dayton, Xavier, West Virginia, Michigan.

Benson is ranked No. 52 in the espnW class of 2025 Super 60. She tweeted that she had received a UK offer on May 2. During her sophomore season at Streetsboro, Benson averaged a team-high 15.3 points on 51% shooting, as well as led the team in rebounding with 14.4 per game.

Ciara Byars, 6-1 F (2025)

High school: George Rogers Clark (Winchester, Ky.).

AAU: Kentucky Premier EYBL.

Offers: Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Maryland, Southern Methodist, Vanderbilt, Dayton, Louisville, Marshall, Eastern Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, Saint Louis, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State.

GRC standout Byars is one of the top recruits in the state of Kentucky and beyond. She landed at No. 35 in the latest espnW recruiting rankings for the class of 2025 and tweeted that she had received an offer from UK on May 17. Byars led the Cardinals in both scoring and rebounding during her sophomore season with 18.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

Lauren Hurst, 6-3 PF/SG (2025)

High school: Cleveland (Tenn.).

AAU: East Tennessee Air Thunder.

Offers: Kentucky, Alabama, Miami (Fla.), Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Charlotte, Arkansas, George Washington, South Alabama, Boston College, Chattanooga, Furman, Wake Forest, Marshall, Presbyterian, Western Carolina, Murray State, Illinois, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, South Florida, Ole Miss, Middle Tennessee, Central Florida, West Virginia, Western Kentucky.

Hurst, who was named the 2022-23 Gatorade Tennessee Volleyball Player of the Year, tweeted that she received an offer from UK following a phone call with head coach Kyra Elzy on May 22. She led Cleveland in points (10.8), rebounds (7.2) and blocks (0.8) per game.

Kamryn Kitchen, 5-9 PG (2025)

High school: Independence (Charlotte, N.C.).

AAU: Team Curry.

Offers: Kentucky, Illinois, Louisville, Virginia, Clemson, Seton Hall, Syracuse, South Carolina Upstate, East Tennessee State, Penn State, Monmouth, UNC Greensboro, Rhode Island, UNC Wilmington, Buffalo, Virginia Commonwealth, Boston College, James Madison, Furman, Temple, Western Carolina, Elon, Charlotte, Appalachian State, Winthrop, Marquette, George Washington, Harvard.

Kitchen, the No. 57 recruit in the class of 2025 by espnW, tweeted that she had received a UK offer on May 25. She led Independence with 13.8 points, 3.3 assists and 2.9 steals per game. She also shot a team-high 78 percent from the free-throw line.

Aubrey Beckham, 5-10 PG (2025)

High school: Hebron Christian Academy (Dacula, Ga.).

AAU: FBC United.

Offers: Kentucky, Florida, Georgia Southern, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Mercer, Boston College, George Washington, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Southern Illinois-Carbondale.

Beckham is No. 60 in the espnW class of 2025 Super 60. She tweeted that she had received a UK offer following a phone call with assistant Niya Butts on May 25. Hebron Christian finished last season with a perfect record at 32-0 overall and 10-0 in AAA Region 8.

Kamrah Banks, 5-9 PG (2026)

High school: Decatur Central (Indianapolis).

AAU: Sports City Angels EYBL.

Offers: Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), Penn State, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Yale, Sacramento State, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Pepperdine, Providence, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Butler, St. John’s, Mississippi State, Illinois-Chicago, Arkansas, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Harvard, Xavier, Purdue, Ohio State, Tulsa, Iowa, Marquette, Pittsburgh, DePaul, Alabama, North Carolina A&T, Jacksonville.

Banks announced on Twitter that she received an offer from UK on April 28. She led Decatur Central in scoring with 17.1 points per game, as well as averaged 3.3 rebounds per game.

Missy Odom, 6-3 F/C (2026)

High School: Jasper (Ala.).

AAU: FBC United.

Offers: Kentucky, Northwestern, Texas A&M, Arizona, Florida State, UAB, Georgetown, Alabama, Mississippi State, Ohio State.

Odom, who is also a talented pitcher in softball, tweeted she received a UK offer following a phone call with Butts on May 25. During her freshman season with the Jasper basketball team, Odom led the Vikings in scoring (14.6 points) and rebounds (8.5) per game.
