Here’s Every Fighter In Tekken 8
Tekken 8 key square
Tekken 8 is quickly approaching, with the next big game in the long-running fighting game series set to take the world by storm on January 26, 2023 – a release date revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live. The new game looks like a big step forward for the series, with improved visuals and mechanics and some awesome-sounding netcode to boot.
The most important part of any fighting game, though, is its roster, and the new Tekken game absolutely delivers on that front. At launch, Tekken 8 will have over 30 playable characters, with plenty of returning characters, a few new ones, and a fun new twist on a series classic. As with most fighting games, Tekken 8 will also be getting post-launch DLC, with new characters said to be coming in the months following launch.
We’ve put together a handy list of every playable character in Tekken 8, including both new and returning characters, and info about the upcoming DLC characters.
Tekken 8: All base game characters
Tekken 8 will have 32 playable characters at launch, of which 28 are returning characters and 4 are all-new(ish) characters. Don’t let the big roster of returning characters fool you though — every single character has been refined and reworked for the new game.

Tekken 8: All DLC characters
At the time of writing, no DLC characters have been confirmed for Tekken 8, but it has been confirmed that the game will be getting at least 4 post-launch DLC characters. With a few notable exceptions – like Tekken 7’s Noctis, Akuma, Geese Howard, and Negan Smith – Tekken tends to keep its roster within the series, so we can probably speculate a little bit about what characters we’re likely to see.
Some fan-favorite characters, like Roger, Eddy Gordo, Heihachi, and Kunimitsu are expected to make a return at some stage, with most of these characters appearing in every game since their introduction. It’s also possible that we’ll see new characters that tie into characters from the series, and potentially some crossover fighters like the last game.
