Even Patrick Mahomes isn’t immune to one sign of aging: Losing touch with music

Muscles that suddenly ache for no reason, not being able to stay up until the wee hours of the morning and gray hairs sprouting on your head. All are all signs of aging that people have experienced or one day will.

There is another symptom that is unavoidable: losing touch with what’s currently hot in pop culture.

In each person’s life, there comes a point when they hear a song that they just don’t recognize.

This happened to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who turns 29 next month.

The Chiefs shared a video of Mahomes from training camp in which he realizes he doesn’t recognize the music being played. Hey, anyone over the age of 30 has had that moment.

“It’s just crazy to me how much music I don’t know out here,” Mahomes says in a mic’d-up video. “Like I know I’m getting old. Like I listen to all kinds of musics, too. I just don’t know (anything) out here. I ain’t never heard this song in my life.”

Just wait until your kids are listening to music, Patrick. That’ll really make you feel old.
