Evans High School graduation ceremony delayed due to inclement weather

The weather outlook is causing complications for the Class of 2024.

Evans High School released a letter Friday afternoon saying their graduation ceremony at Evans Towne Center Park will be pushed by one hour to 7:30 p.m. This is due to the potential for lightning and other hazardous weather conditions. Gates will open at 6:45 p.m. The letter goes on to say the following:

"Graduates should report to the staging area at 6:45 p.m. We encourage our families and guests to anticipate wet conditions in the grass seating area, and to dress appropriately, including proper footwear. Please bring your own seating. The ceremony will be live-streamed as planned, and can be viewed at bit.ly/ccsdlive."

Evans High will continue to monitor the forecast. Stay tuned for further updates.
