Evan Peters girlies, this one is for you.

On the heels of the release of her seventh studio album, Eternal Sunshine, today, Ariana Grande shared the video for “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).” The breezy pop track (produced by pop juggernaut Max Martin) features actor Evan Peters—one of pop culture's reigning internet boyfriends—as Grande's love interest in the visual.

The music video, along with Grande's new album, is heavily inspired by the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind which originally starred Kate Winslet and one of Grande's favorite actors, Jim Carrey. In the "We Can't Be Friends" visual, Grande and Peters recreate memorable scenes from the film, including Grande attending an appointment in hopes of erasing the memories of a painful breakup much like in the movie. In another scene, Peters and Grande recreate the famous birthday cake scene from 1986's Pretty in Pink as well, with Grande sporting an '80s inspired puff-sleeve prom dress similar to Molly Ringwald's character of Andie in the film. Grande has regularly experimented with '80s aesthetics for Eternal Sunshine's rollout, with her first single of her new era "Yes, And?" paying homage to Paula Abdul.

Alongside the internet expressing their praise for Grande's new project, fans were quick to share their excitement for seeing Peters in this specific visual as well. Peters of course is known for often taking on darker roles like his most recent project portraying serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in Ryan Murphy's Monster series. Needless to say, his admirers are elated to see the actor take on lighter fare with his cameo in the new music video.

Grande previously spoke with Apple Music's Zane Lowe about how Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ultimately inspired her new album, which is rumored to narrate the demise of her marriage to ex-husband Dalton Gomez and the beginning of her new relationship with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

"I think the movie is so beloved because so many people can relate to knowing that something isn't right, but loving so much, and wanting to stay, and wanting to figure it out, and that cycle that can happen in the film," she shared. "I think that's why the film is so beloved. It's because so many people can relate to it, and I think it kind of fell into place that these songs had little tidbits of that theme. I just felt really inspired by it."
