American Horror Story's Evan Peters is among the new cast members confirmed for Disney's Wish.

A first-look trailer for the animated movie has confirmed an exciting voice cast joining Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose, Star Trek's Chris Pine and Rogue One's Alan Tudyk.

Co-written by Frozen's Jennifer Lee and Manhunt's Allison Moore, Wish follows 17-year-old Asha (DeBose) as she tries to prove to her kingdom that it faces an unseen darkness from its king Magnifico (Pine).

When Asha wishes for help, an actual falling star may prove to be the one thing she needs to save her kingdom from the embrace of evil.

Peters will lend his voice as the loveable strongman Simon, while other newcomers include Big Sky's Angelique Cabral as Magnifico's wife Queen Amaya and Insecure's Natasha Rothwell as Asha's mum Sakina.

Rounding out the cast of Wish will be The Flash's Victor Garber as Asha's grandfather Sabino, What We Do in the Shadows' Harvey Guillén as the village cynic Gabo, Awkward's Jennifer Kumiyama as Asha's best mate Dahlia and Golden Globe winner Ramy Youssef as the allergy-plagued Safi.

The musical film will feature an all-new score from Moana and Frozen composer David Metzger and will be co-directed by frequent Disney collaborators Chris Buck (Frozen) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (Raya and the Last Dragon).

Disney is certainly counting on Wish being a big hit, as co-writer and Walt Disney Animation Studios chief creative officer Jennifer Lee has confirmed a huge cinema launch for the movie.

Here's the brand-new synopsis for Wish: "Walt Disney Animation Studios' Wish is an all-new musical-comedy welcoming audiences to the magical kingdom of Rosas, where Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force — a little ball of boundless energy called Star.

"Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe — the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico — to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen."

Wish will arrive in UKcinemas on November 24.
