Euro 2022 betting: England is the favorite ahead of the semifinals

England has the lowest Euro 2022 odds of any team remaining in the tournament.

The English women head into their matchup with Sweden on Tuesday at +150 to win the tournament at BetMGM. The Swedes are the long shot for the title at +500 while oddsmakers see the other semifinal as very even. Germany is +245 to take the title while France is +275.

England entered the tournament as co-favorites with Spain and knocked the Spaniards out of the tournament in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. Spain had a 1-0 lead for much of the game but England got a goal in the final 10 minutes of regulation to send it to overtime and Georgia Stanway hit a laser six minutes into extra time for the winning margin.

Spain entered the tournament without midfield Alexia Putellas. She tore an ACL in training right before the tournament. Her injury was a significant one to a Spanish team that could have easily made it to the final.

All four of the teams remaining in the tournament are in the top eight of the FIFA world rankings. Sweden is actually the highest team from Europe at No. 2 behind the United States while France is No. 3, Germany is No. 5 and England is No. 8.

Oddsmakers clearly aren’t putting too much stock in the rankings given the odds for Sweden and England to win the tournament. And you can understand why. England is hosting Euro 2022 and has gotten massive fan support at all of its matches. It’ll be a raucous crowd on hand Tuesday (3 p.m. ET, ESPN2) for the semifinal and will be even bigger and louder on Sunday if England makes the final.
