Espresso bar closing

May 5—Sips Espresso Bar announced they will be closing May 25 on their Facebook page. The owner Kathy Sheppard declined to speak with the Reflector-Chronicle.

Amid their Facebook posts, the business has not made it clear why they are closing. They have stated they are not closing due to financial troubles.

"A lot of people are saying how 'sorry' they are for us that we are closing. Like it was out of our control. I would like to clarify a few things: are we going bankrupt? No. Is it because of lack of help that we so desperately needed to help with our prosperous business? No. Is it because of our landlord? No," according to the business' April 29 post.

The business has been open for 18 years.
