ESPN Analyst Would Be “Surprised” If Aaron Rodgers Returns To Green Bay
Matt Hasselbeck knows what it’s like to quarterback a franchise for a number of years and move on. On Wednesday, the ESPN analyst and former Seahawk said he’d be “surprised” to see Aaron Rodgers in Green & Gold come 2022.
“I’d be surprised if Aaron is back in Green Bay,” Hasselbeck said in a conversation on ESPN.com. “One reason would be to look at recent history.”
“The guys that he looks up to — there’s probably not a lot of guys that he looks up to, but Peyton Manning and Tom Brady would be two of those guys,” he continued. “You could never have ever imagined Peyton Manning leaving Indianapolis or Tom Brady leaving New England. But it worked out awesome for both guys.”
Saying, “There is life after.”
“People are probably thinking about legacy and go win one somewhere else. I don’t think it’s that. Ultimately, people forget players are human,” Hasselbeck continued. “Aaron is getting older. He’s talking about starting a family. There’s things like that that come into it.”
#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers tells @PatMcAfeeShow that the one thing he won't do is retire and then come back a year later. But everything else is on the table (staying/asking for trade/permanently retiring) and the first thing he has to decide is if he's committed to still playing.

Aaron Rodgers’ future with the team remains up in the air heading into the offseason. During his Tuesday appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show,” Aaron said pretty much every option is on the table.
Despite being under contract with Green Bay, the three-time MVP hold all the leverage when it comes to this situation. It’s sure to be the biggest storyline heading into the new league year.
