STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point Brewery, 2617 Water St., recently opened its new Hospitality Center.

The brewery celebrated the completion of its $1.1 million project last week, opening its new tap room, gift shop and sampling room for residents and visitors to spend their time.

The Boldt Company broke ground on the project in October, remodeling the 1936 building adjacent to the outdoor beer garden into a new tap room and gift shop. The company also added a sampling room to the building.

The project itself honored the longevity and history of the almost 100-year-old building, repurposing materials, using glass from the original windows and including vintage signs on display.

Joe Martino, an operating partner at Stevens Point Brewery, said the tap room is a logical extension of the legacy of the business in the community.

“Inside the historic walls of this brewery, we have had hospitality rooms and tasting areas before,” Martino said. “They eventually needed to make way for additional tanks and expanded brewing operations. Now, we have a permanent home for our local friends and travelers alike to stop, sample our products and experience the quality and charm that makes our beers – and all of Stevens Point – so unique. This is truly a new era for the brewery.”

Matt Paulus, Boldt’s area manager, said both Stevens Point Brewery and Bolt are committed to innovation and community. The Stevens Point Brewery addition provides a year-round opportunity for residents and visitors to explore the brewery and products, he said.

“We are excited for what this project means to the brewery and its future,” Paulus said.
