Epic Games Store Goes Into A Fortnite Frenzy In Alan Wake 2’s FAQ

Fortnite Alan Wake

Alan Wake 2 was released last week on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and has been getting some rave reviews. Fans across the world have been digging into the mind-bending survival horror game, and some of those fans bought the game on the Epic Games Store. Funnily enough, though, Epic isn’t really keen on telling people about Alan Wake 2 — it just wants to talk about Fortnite.

As discovered by Twitter user Lachlan Williams, the FAQ section on the Alan Wake 2 store page on EGS isn’t exactly helpful for people wanting to find out more about the game. Instead, it’s entirely about the bonus Fortnite cosmetics that come with the game on the platform.

Players who buy Alan Wake 2 on EGS will get an Alan Wake skin and back bling based on the character’s in-game messenger bag. Epic really wants you to know that, and everything about that, with the FAQ largely failing to mention anything about the actual game and focusing on the cosmetics.

The FAQ features questions like “What are the ‘Alan Wake’ Outfit and ‘Alan’s Messenger Bag’ Back Bling?” and “How do I get access to the ‘Alan Wake’ Outfit and ‘Alan’s Messenger Bag’ Back Bling?”. Hilariously, it even ends with “How can I play Fortnite?”, which we’re sure Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment is just thrilled about.

It seems like Epic Games has seen Williams’ tweet, too, as the FAQ on the Epic Games Store now has a question not seen in the tweet, “Where can I find the complete Alan Wake 2 FAQ?” It links to the Alan Wake website, so that’s a nice addition, at least, but probably should have been there in the first place.

Remedy Entertainment detailed Control 2, Max Payne remakes, and Condor production progress earlier this week, with each of those projects (and more) in various states of completion. It might be a while before we see any of them, especially given Alan Wake 2 only just came out, but it does seem like Remedy fans have plenty to look forward to in the future.
