The View Hosts Walk Out to Carole King’s ‘I Feel the Earth Move’ After 4.8-Magnitude Earthquake Hits New York

Leave it to The View to find the classiest way possible to commemorate the 4.8magnitude earthquake that rocked parts of the northeast on Friday.

At the top of Friday’s live broadcast, the show’s panel of hosts — Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin — entered the studio to Carole King’s 1971 classic “I Feel the Earth Move.”

“It looks like we’re alive!” Behar announced as she took her seat. “We’re alive and live in New York, where we just had a 4.8 earthquake. Did you all feel it?”

The co-hosts then swapped fascinating stories about their individual experiences, with Hostin proudly proclaiming that she didn’t even notice the seismic event.

“I was listening to Beyonce and ‘Jolene,’ talking to my fabulous hair and makeup team, and I didn’t feel a thing,” she said. “I noticed nothing.”

“Well, honey, is it because you have no feelings?” asked Navarro, whose office shares a wall with Hostin’s.

But Hostin remained unbothered by this jab. “It could be that,” she replied, “but it could also be that my room is anointed, protected and covered.”

At 10:23 am on Friday, April 5, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake rattled New York City and other parts of the northeast, according to The United States Geological Survey.
