Netflix to Unveil ‘3 Body Problem’ Immersive Experience and Trailer for Sci-Fi Series at CES 2024

Next month, Netflix will have a booth on the main CES show floor for the first time — where it will stage an “immersive experience” for the “3 Body Problem,” the sci-fi drama series from “Game of Thrones” duo David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and Alexander Woo.

The streamer’s exhibit space at CES 2024 will be located at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Central Hall, Booth #17048. Per Netflix’s description of the activation: “An otherworldly headset will transport CES attendees into the mysterious world of ‘3 Body Problem’ in a fun and experiential way, showcasing the series’ genre-bending high stakes.” The experience keys off a key narrative element in the “3 Body Problem” universe, in which a gaming headset is used by characters to transport into an unknown world.

In the wearable-display experience, CES attendees will be able to watch the series trailer for the very first time. And as they watch, Netflix says, “they are transported into an immersive, real-world extension of the series, revealing clues about the nature of the core threat in the ‘3 Body Problem.'”

The first eight episodes of “3 Body Problem” will premiere March 21, 2024, on Netflix. The series stars John Bradley (“Game of Thrones”), Jess Hong (“The Brokenwood Mysteries”) and Sea Shimooka (“Arrow”).

Also at CES, Netflix will host a press preview of the “3 Body Problem” trailer on Tuesday, Jan. 9, from 10-11 a.m. at its booth, where series creators Benioff, D.B. Weiss and Woo (“The Terror: Infamy,” “True Blood”) will be available for interviews.

In addition, Netflix will return to CES’s C Space entertainment and marketing exhibition area at the Aria Resort & Casino, where it will hold meetings with partners and clients. The streamer also will have a Netflix-branded takeover of Easy’s Cocktail Lounge at the Aria into the “Netflix Speakeasy.”

The “3 Body Problem” series is based on the best-selling book series “The Three Body Problem” by Cixin Liu, which tells a multigenerational story that spans the cosmos. According to Netflix’s official logline, “A young woman’s fateful decision in 1960s China reverberates across space and time into the present day. When the laws of nature inexplicably unravel before their eyes, a close-knit group of brilliant scientists join forces with an unflinching detective to confront the greatest threat in humanity’s history.”
