Netflix New Releases: The Best Shows & Movies to Watch in May
Netflix is sharing a never-before-seen glimpse at its May 2024 streaming slate, and it’s even better than expected.
The list is full of recognizable titles, including Airport, Hulk, Jumanji, Shrek, The Nutty Professor and Traffic. However, the real showstoppers are all the new original titles. While there are multiple debuts—like Mother of the Bride—there are also several shows that are returning for new seasons, like Selling the OC and Bridgerton.

1. Selling the OC
Premiere date: May 3
The Selling Sunset spin-off is returning for season three. The reality show follows the agents of the Orange County branch of the Oppenheimer Group as they fight for listings, gain commission and navigate their personal lives.
2. Mother of the Bride
Premiere date: May 9
If you love Mamma Mia!, then you need to tune into this all-new rom-com starring Brooke Shields, Miranda Cosgrove and Chad Michael Murray. The story follows a woman who's preparing for her daughter's wedding. Her world is turned upside-down when she realizes the groom's father broke her heart years ago.
3. Bridgerton
Premiere date: May 16
Who’s ready for the first half of Bridgerton season three? The series takes place during the regency era in London and follows the eight children of the late Viscount Bridgerton. The third installment follows the love story between Colin and Penelope, so prepare for loads of drama.
4. A Part of You
Premiere date: May 31
This coming-of-age flick is a must-watch for fans of emotional love stories. The plot follows a teenager who's forced to navigate the world after a tragic loss. (Disclaimer: Tissues are a must.)
