New Movies Out Now in Theaters: What to See This Week

It’s not always easy to find out which movies hit theaters each week, especially after the Hollywood strikes led to so many release date changes. With the WGA and actors strikes resolved and summer blockbusters starting to roll in, June is filled with both big budget flicks and new indie releases.

Premiering June 14 is Disney’s “Inside Out 2,” which follows a now 13-year-old Riley as she goes away to hockey camp and grapples with a new set of complicated emotions starring Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Tony Hale, Liza Lapira, and Paul Walter Hauser. Also hitting theaters is “Ultraman: Rising,” an animated action-adventure about superstar baseball player Ken Sato who must return to Japan to fulfill his legacy of becoming Ultraman starring Christopher Sean, Rob Fukuzaki, Hiro Nakamura and Gedde Watanabe. Two films getting limited releases this week are “Firebrand,” a historical drama about Katherine Parr, the sixth wife of the tyrannical King Henry VIII, and “Reverse the Curse,” a romance comedy about a man who fakes a Red Sox winning streak to keep his ill father happy during his final days. Keep an eye out for Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Kinds of Kindness” and “Fancy Dance” which both release next week.
