Blue Eye Samurai Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix: ‘Mizu Has a Lot More Blood to Spill’ (Watch Teaser Video)
Mizu’s fight is far from over — Netflix has renewed the animated series Blue Eye Samurai for a second season, TVLine has learned.
In celebration of the show’s pickup, Blue Eye Samurai creators, executive producers and writers Amber Noizumi and Michael Green released the following statement:

We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners at Netflix for letting the journey continue.”
For the unfamiliar, Netflix describes Blue Eye Samurai as a “provocative and visually stunning cinematic series immersing the viewer in a world of vivid adult animation with a live-action edge. Set in Edo-period Japan, Blue Eye Samurai follows Mizu , a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise seeking the deliverance of revenge.”
Maya Erskine (PEN15) stars as Mizu, leading a voice cast that includes George Takei (Star Trek), Masi Oka (Heroes), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Revenge), Brenda Song (Dollface), Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever), Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat), Kenneth Branagh (Death on the Nile), Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Ming-Na Wen (The Mandalorian), Harry Shum Jr. (Glee) and Mark Dacascos (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
In its first full week of eligibility after releasing on Nov. 3, Blue Eye Samurai made its Nielsen streaming ranking debut at No. 9, by generating 315 million minutes viewed across eight episodes.
