Englewood man killed in motorcycle crash near hospital
An Englewood man died Friday night after crashing his motorcycle near Englewood Health hospital, police said.
Public information officer Fred Pulice identified the victim as city resident Yeison Velasquez, 26. Pulice said the crash occurred about 7:45 p.m. on North Dean Street between Concord Street and the hospital complex.
No other vehicles were involved. Velasquez "apparently lost control of the motorcycle," Pulice said.
"He had severe injuries," Pulice said. "He was transported to the hospital, where he died shortly thereafter."
