New emotional video shows crew of sunken Indonesian submarine singing onboard the vessel

A new emotional video has come out showing the 53-man crew of the sunken Indonesian submarine KRI Nanggala 402 singing aboard their ship.

In the video, the crew is singing the hit song “Sampai Jumpa” which translates to “Goodbye” along with a fellow crew member playing an acoustic guitar.

Of those singing was submarine Commander Heri Oktavian.

The video was shared on Instagram by Erix Soekamti, the original singer of “Sampai Jumpa.” He only captioned the post with crying emojis and the hashtag #prayforkrinanggala402.

The sentimental video was initially recorded for the previous commander of the nation’s submarine corp who retired in March, according to Indonesian military spokesperson Djawara Whimbo who spoke to Agence France-Presse.

On Sunday, the Indonesian military announced that it had found pieces of the submarine 2,600 feet below the surface. The ship disappeared last Wednesday off the coast of Bali.

“With this authentic evidence, we can declare that KRI Nanggala 402 has sunk and all the crew members are dead,” military chief Hadi Tjahjanto confirmed to reporters.
