During the latest episode of the SmartLess podcast with hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, Emma Stone revealed that she suffered from a truly OMG-worthy injury in the days leading up to her nuptials with Dave McCary.

"The week that I got married, I did open a refrigerator and the handle broke off and I got a black eye," the Easy A star began. "And that’s where it stops," the celeb added with a laugh before agreeing with Sean's comment that she "needs a helmet."

"I need a helmet and extensive therapy," she joked.

During the convo, the actor also opened up a bit about how she and Dave met and dished that, "he was a writer-director [at Saturday Night Live] for about five years doing digital shorts. I met him there, but we had a bunch of mutual friends, so yeah."

JFYI, Emma and Dave got married in 2020, and the whole affair—very much like their 'ship in general—was kept very hush-hush. However, we *have* gotten a few 🥺❤️ tidbits about the couple's life, including when the two got engaged thanks to a December 2019 pic Dave posted that high-key broke the internet at the time:

Plus, March 2021 brought the happy news that the couple had welcomed their first child, daughter Louise Jean McCary.

More recently, a source updated us nosy fans on how Emma and Dave are doing, and spoiler alert: they're just as happy as you'd expect! The insider revealed to Us Weekly that the Saturday Night Live producer is beyond supportive of his wife's acting career and that the two are enormously content as parents. "For Emma, quitting acting and being a stay-at-home mom would be like cutting off one of her limbs. That’s just not her," they began before adding that, "Acting is as vital to her as breathing, it’s a part of who she is—and Dave’s 100 percent behind her."

"She and Dave are happy as a couple and one of the reasons why is they respect each other as artists," the source continued, noting that the actor has "a great set-up" to balance parenting and work. "They love their little family. Louise has brought them so much joy and they’re growing and learning every day. They’re in this together. Emma still has the Hollywood ambition and drive and determination to do her best work and it keeps her going, and she believes doing what she loves will also make her a better mom."

I'm not crying, you are!
