Emma Gutierrez regional champ for Fremont Ross girls wrestling

Emma Gutierrez (145 pounds) beat Mapleton's Skylar Hopstetter 6-3 for Fremont Ross to take a regional wrestling crown Sunday at Marysville.

Jaiden Long (120) shut out Jonathan Alder's Ava Ater 2-0 and Keyonna Vann (190) pinned Benjamin Logan's Sophia Harris in 1:28 to finish third as the Little Giants finished third as a team. Malaya Hughes (100) was pinned in 1:53 by Tinora's Bella Graziani to finish fourth and Ella Warner (155) pinned Clay's Gabriella Rivera in 1:37 to finish fifth.

Morgan Leonhardt (115) pinned Marysville's Cami Leng in 2:38 for a regional championship as Gibsonburg finished fourth. Lilly Zwiefel (100) was pinned by Urbana's Libertie Nigh to finish runner-up, McKenzie Montgomery (125) pinned Vermilion's Mackenzie Feltis in 1:59 to finish third and Allison Schroeder (120) was pinned in 4:20 by Defiance's Kendall Rittenhouse to finish sixth.

Port Clinton's Mya Reeves (170) was pinned in 2:27 by Marysville's Lori Grimes in the final.

Audrey Miracle (110) beat Caledonia River Valley's Valerie Riegel 9-2 to finish third for Clyde. Avery Gaskalla (100) beat Marysville's Teagan McKinney 6-1 to finish fifth.

Marysville finished first.

Malaya Hughes (100 pounds) shut out Teagan McKinney 12-0 by major decision, Jocelyn Butler (105) won by forfeit and Sophia Metcalf (110) pinned Reese Andrews in 28 seconds Sunday as Ross fell 42-38 to host Marysville.

Marysville advanced to state. Jaiden Long (120) pinned Myranda Streng in 5:39, Samantha Alejo (130) beat Eliana Borjas 11-3 by major decision and Soledad Resendez (135) pinned Riliegh McGlone in 3:40 and Ella Warner (155) pinned Sophia Smegal in 3:54 for the Little Giants.

Metcalf pinned Morgan Diaz in 46 seconds, Long pinned Madeline WestHoven in 3:40 and Alejo pinned Addilyn Delarber as Ross tied Tinora 42-42 in the first round. Resendez pinned Phoenix Roger-Stemen in 3:11, Warner and Butler won by forfeit and Emma Gutierrez pinned Zoe Billings in 1:39.
