Emily in Paris actor Lucas Bravo has been cast in the lead role of new movie Sulak.

Bravo, known to audiences for playing chef Gabriel in the hit Netflix series, will be swapping the small screen for a bigger one in the crime caper adventure.

According to Screen Daily, he's set to play titular character Bruno Sulak, a real-life French criminal who earned a notorious reputation in the 1980s for his non-violent heists on multiple jewelry stores.

Whilst Sulak was sent to prison for his crimes, he managed to escape several times to reunite with his lover and accomplice. This led to him "becoming public enemy number one in the process".

Sulak is scheduled to begin filming this summer on location in Paris and the South of France.

Bravo is the only confirmed casting choice to date. It's been announced that Mélanie Laurent is signed on as director, who has also co-written the script with Christophe Deslandes. Meanwhile, Alain Goldman of Pitchipoï Productions is on board as producer.

Goldman has described the upcoming movie as a "modern Catch Me If You Can".

The film has been picked up by Prime Video France, which has also greenlit a further five new French feature films and three original series.

Thomas Dubois, head of Originals for Prime Video France, said Sulak is "a scintillating prestige drama and love story with a bit of action".
