Emerging freshmen, top goalies & more: Top 15 Shore boys lacrosse standouts from Week No. 4

A lot of goalies and underclassmen have stepped up this past week for boys lacrosse teams in the Shore Conference.

Now that the cat is out the bag on top scorers and upperclassmen, it appears some newcomers have stepped up. Also, the players protecting the net have had some big games and made a lot of saves on net. Of course, there's still some impressive scorers as well.

Here's the top 15 standouts from last week (April 22 to 28).

Brody Muly, Manasquan, Sr.

The Lehigh University commit had a field day on Monday with six goals and one assist to help lead the Warriors to a 17-1 victory over Red Bank Catholic.

Alastair Orr, Rumson-Fair Haven, Sr.

Had a season-high three goals in a win over Wall Tuesday, plus on Monday he had three assists and one goal in a win over Red Bank Regional.

The FOGO won 48 face-offs, had a 73.75% win percentage, and tallied four ground balls over the week to help his team win three out of their four games.

Tucker Malfa, Shore, Jr.

He had three goals against Allentown and Holmdel last week, each game ended in victory for the Blue Devils.

Jack Cannon, Holmdel, So.

The midfielder tied his season-high three goals (and two assists) against Shore on Wednesday. He also had two goals and assists over South Brunswick on Saturday.

Matt Avivi, Manalapan, Jr.

The Braves have been rolling thanks to the offensive output of Avivi. He had a season-high six goals against Jackson Memorial Saturday and three goals against Red Bank Catholic.

Nicholas Caruso, Toms River East, So.

The underclassman led the team with three goals and one assist in a win over Howell on Saturday. He also had four goals against Jackson Memorial.

Jackson Lu, Red Bank Catholic, Sr.

The attackman tied his season-high five goals in a win over Barnegat on Saturday to help snap the Caseys three-game losing streak.

Brady Kirk, Point Pleasant Boro, Jr.

Whether it was his four goals and three assists to help beat Middletown South on Monday or his five goals and six assists in a win over Lacey Friday, the attackman has been dominating.

Mario Lorenson, Middletown North, Jr.

The goalie has been lockdown for the Lions this past week. He had a clean sheet against Long Branch, 18 saves against Colts Neck, and only allowed one goal against Brick Township. All games were for wins.

Ben Girard, Ocean Township, Sr.

The midfielder had three goals and four assists in a victory over Long Branch on Wednesday.

Matthew LaBianca, Jackson Liberty, Sr.

The goalie had 21 saves in a win over St. John Vianney, plus 14 saves in wins over both St. Rose and Brick Memorial last week.

Gavin Nascimento, Donovan Catholic, Fr.

The midfielder has continued his impressive freshman year with four goals and two assists to go with eight ground balls in a win over Toms River North on Wednesday.

Ryan Kurc, Brick Township, Sr.

The goalie made 28 saves and only allowed six goals in their last two games over St. Rose and Toms River North.

Logan Bailin, Middletown South, Sr.

At the attack position, the senior scored three goals against Barnegat on Wednesday and three goals Old Bridge on Saturday.
