Elvis Presley-inspired beard oil, men's salon, cigar lounge to open in Lubbock

The newest hair salon and future cigar lounge plans to get the Lubbock salon scene "All Shook Up" by taking inspiration from the King of Rock and Roll.

Tristan Chancey, owner of the upcoming Hairbreak Hotel, 2614 130th St., Unit 3, plans to open her unique men's hair salon on Wednesday, May 1. Chancey named the business in honor of her grandmother, who loved Elvis Presley.

"I was raised with my grandmother in the house, and she had an enormous love for Elvis Presley," Chancey said. "It was something for me to keep her present in my life, so we came up with Heartbreak Hotel, just like the double platinum Heartbreak Hotel."

The salon will offer a variety of hair cuts, stylings, waxing and its own line of beard oil.

Opening day will come with free champagne and sparkling grape juice, treats and a special for $20 haircuts between May 1-15. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome.

"We are more than just your in-and-out kind of salon," Chancey said. "It's going to be a fun, upbeat environment with its rock 'n' roll theme."

Customers can enjoy free coffee and beer during their services.

Another product customers can purchase exclusively through Hairbreak Hotel is the salon's line of beard oil, which Chancey personally makes. It is starting out with four oils, each named after popular Elvis songs:

• Blue Suede Shoes.

• Burning Love.

• Hound Dog.

• All Shook Up.

"Each stylist will have it on their station and (customers) can try it and purchase it," Chancey said.

The cigar sales and lounge part of the business is in the works.
