Elle Fanning looks like an ice princess tonight on the famed carpeted steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The actor arrived at the 2024 Met Gala looking radiant in a glassy transparent gown by Balmain, which made her look like she was enveloped in hard ice.

The sculptural off-the-shoulder wrap dress had flowers coming off the neckline, and a flowy skirt. Fanning wore it with simple silver sandals and cascading diamond earrings by Cartier. She kept her makeup rosy and simple, and wore her blonde hair in waves tucked behind her ears.

The theme of the night is “The Garden of Time,” based on the art museum’s new exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” and Fanning embodied it perfectly in her romantic ensemble.

The look is in line with the dreamy style we’ve come to expect from the star of The Great, who makes us catch our breath with her feminine ball gowns on the carpet, and makes us dream with her casually sophisticated street style when she’s off duty.

At least year’s Met Gala, she looked downright angelic in a flowing white lace gown that paid homage to a special moment she shared with the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, whom the gala honored. The dress was by Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood, and she accessorized it with a flower crown tied around her head with black ribbons, and an overflowing bouquet of daisies she carried in her arms. She finished the look with a cropped black jacket.
