Elizabeth Olsen wants Scarlet Witch to have "more humour" on MCU return

Elizabeth Olsen has expressed keenness to see Scarlet Witch have "a lot more humour" if she returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The character was last seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she took on a more villainous role, while her fate was left up in the air after appearing to be crushed by a mountain.

However, during a new interview with ScreenRant, Olsen suggested we could see a more light hearted side to the character if she comes back – which would no doubt be a relief after the hell she has been through.

"We can do anything with her now!" the star said. "I feel like we've done so much. Now, we can really have fun; I feel like there's a lot more humor to be had with her. She's often the emotion of a story, and I'm curious to see what we can explore. And hopefully [we can] give her some redemption."

Back in September, Marvel boss Kevin Feige teased Scarlet Witch's return, noting that fans never saw a body at the end of Doctor Strange 2.

"I don't know that we saw her under rubble?" he told Vanity Fair. "I saw a tower coming down, and a little red flash. I don't know what that means."

One possible avenue of return is WandaVision spin-off series Agatha: Coven of Chaos, which will see the return of Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness.

While Olsen hasn't been confirmed for the show, she said last year that she would like to appear, telling Entertainment Tonight: "I would love to pop up. I love Kathryn, I don't want to leave her side ever."

The actress added: "We do think: 'Gosh, we just gotta do it again!' We just had a really great time making [WandaVision], and with Paul [Bettany], it was really a special time, so we would love to get the gang back."
