Elizabeth Banks gives update on "adult" Flintstones series
Elizabeth Banks has provided an update on the hotly anticipated adult animated series Bedrock, which is based on The Flintstones.
The series will be executive produced by Banks, who will also voice Pebbles. It will reportedly be set 20 years after the original, iconic animated series.
The Stone Age will give way to the Bronze Age, and it will feature Fred on the brink of retirement and Pebbles as a 20-something with a career of her own.

In an interview with TV Line, Banks gave an update on the project: "We’re still in development. I’m also playing Pebbles, excitedly, and we’re working on it."
She continued: "Oh, I think we still want it to be for co-viewing [by parents with their kids]. It will have adult themes, like all the greats — just like The Simpsons or South Park — but 'family-ish friendly' I mean, I let my kids watch South Park…."
The voice cast was announced last month. Barry actor Stephen Root will voice Fred, The Mandalorian actress Amy Sedaris will voice Wilma, comedian Nicole Byer will play Betty, Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Joe Lo Truglio will play Barney, and The Good Place actor Manny Jacinto will voice Bamm-Bamm.

This is just one exciting project for Banks, who was recently seen in the trailer for the upcoming The Beanie Bubble opposite Sarah Snook, Zach Galifianakis and Geraldine Viswanathan.
Both of these projects come after Banks directed Cocaine Bear, which depicted the true story of a bear who consumed a large amount of cocaine. Previously, at the time of the film's release, Banks said it was important for the film to feel "real."
"It had to feel like a NatGeo documentary about a bear that did cocaine. It couldn't be something silly. It couldn't seem animated in any way."
