Elisabeth Moss had a jaw-dropping surprise to announce while appearing on late-night television this week.

The Handmaid's Tale star, 41, proudly showed off her baby bump while sitting down with Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday, Jan. 31, announcing the impending birth of her first child.

"Are you pregnant or just an incredibly committed method actor?" Kimmel joked as Moss, who wore a form-fitting black dress that clearly showed off her belly, sat down.

“A little bit of both,” she confirmed, sharing that she's felt "not bad" during the pregnancy so far. "I've been really lucky; it's been going really well." But, seeing as she's a first-time mom and Kimmel has four kids under his belt, she asked the host for his advice as far as must-have products or delivery room accessories.

"Buy everything," he answered immediately, before dialing it back to suggest she'd be gifted plenty of necessities. On a more serious note, he shared a piece of advice Bill Murray happened to offer his wife, Molly McNearney, back in the day.

The What About Bob? alum called for strands of Christmas lights or beads to be hung in the delivery room, a night light or battery-powered candles (no open flames in the delivery room!), and music.

"He's so romantic at the hospital," Moss replied, but Kimmel assured her he was right, comparing the abysmal hospital lighting to a Walmart—inappropriate for such a "blessed event."

At this point, it's unclear when Moss is due, nor who the father of her baby is. She was previously married to SNL alum Fred Armisen, with the couple divorcing in 2011. She later dated True Detective cinematographer Adam Arkapaw, calling things off in 2015.

In 2019, she confirmed to Marie Claire that she was in a relationship, but never identified her significant other. “I learned you just don’t talk about it," she said at the time.
