Electronics recycling event, spring cleanup scheduled for Cuyahoga Falls residents

Cuyahoga Falls, in partnership with Summit e-Waste Recycling Solutions, will host an electronics recycling event for all residents on Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cuyahoga Falls Service Complex, 2560 Bailey Road. Participants must enter at the Gaylord Grove Road entrance.

The following items will be accepted:

  • Desktop computers and laptops;

  • Printers - all types and sizes;

  • Cell phones, PDAs and mobile devices;

  • Telephones and phone systems;

  • Modems, routers and servers;

  • DVD players, VCRs and stereos;

  • Game consoles and radios;

  • Cables, wires and power adapters;

  • Ink and toner cartridges;

  • Anything that plugs in or uses batteries;

  • Computer monitors;

  • Televisions; and

  • Batteries.

There is a charge for CRT "tube" televisions: $10 for 12 inches and smaller and $20 for anything more than 12 inches. Summit e-Waste accepts all forms of payment.

Hard drive shredding will also be available on-site. Summit e-Waste attendants will direct participants where to park to access hard drive/laptop/desktop shredding services.

The electronics recycling event precedes the annual Spring Cleanup Program for all Cuyahoga Falls Sanitation customers that runs from Monday, May 6, through Friday, May 17. Place all Spring cleanup refuse at the curb on your regularly scheduled trash pickup day by 7 a.m. for collection during this time.

Hazardous waste, tires, car parts, or large amounts of construction material will not be taken. All other acceptable trash items (furniture, appliances, misc.) will be picked up free of charge.

Residents should note that the Summit ReWorks Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center, at 1201 Graham Road, opens for the season on June 6. For more information about the center, including accepted materials and hours of operation, visit summitreworks.com.
