El Paso Comic Con, ZZ Top, Banda MS among things to do in April

The El Paso Comic Con returns this weekend with plenty of fun celebrities, anime and vendors at the El Paso convention center.

Latin singer Alicia Villarreal will be in El Paso this weekend for a concert. The Mexican singer was the lead singer of Grupo Limite until she went solo in 2001. Later this month, Banda MS will be performing at the Don Haskins Center. The group rescheduled a performance it had earlier this year.

Also coming up is a concert by ZZ Top and a return to the 80s with an event at the Shoppes at Solana with well-known El Paso DJ Joe Dorgan.

El Paso Comic Con

Celebrities Zachary Levy and Patrick Warburton are guests at the El Paso Comic Con April 12-14 at the El Paso convention center. Event hours: 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 12, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, April 13, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, April 14. Single-day tickets are $25. For more ticket information, go to www.elpasocomiccon.com

Alicia Villarreal

Latin singer Alicia Villarreal will bring her Donde Todo Comenzo Tour to El Paso with a show at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Abraham Chavez Theatre. Tickets, ranging from $39 to $179, plus fees, are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Banda MS

The popular band has rescheduled its concert to 8 p.m. April 20 at the Don Haskins Center. The original tickets will be honored. Tickets ranging from $49 to $149, plus fees, are available at Ticketmaster.com.

80's Market at Shoppes at Solana

The Shoppes at Solana will hold an 80s Market and Party from noon to 5 p.m. April 20. Legendary DJ Joe Dorgan will spin some great music, and The Retroz will perform live. A curated selection of vintage clothing and retro accessories will be available. Dress for the occasion in your favorite 80s-inspired attire.

ZZ Top coming to Sun City

American rock band ZZ Top will perform at the Abraham Chavez Theatre on April 22. The band is on its Elevation Tour and will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, ranging from $54 to $114, plus fees, are available at Ticketmaster.com.

La Union Maze plans a Spring Fling

La Union Maze is planning to open with its 2nd Annual Spring Fling from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, April 27, and Saturday, May 4. 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Sunday, April 28, and Sunday, May 5, at 1101 Highway 28 Anthony, New Mexico.

Most playground activities will be open, such as jumping pillows, slides, zip lines and mini-oat mazes for the little ones. The maze and pumpkin picking are unavailable (activities are reserved for their eight-week fall season). General admission will be $12.50 and ages 2-5 pay $5.50 via the website, www.launionmaze.com
