EastEnders' Shona McGarty shares photo of new boyfriend

EastEnders star Shona McGarty has shared a photo of herself with her new boyfriend, a few months after she teased that she was enjoying a new romance.

The actress, who plays Whitney Dean in the BBC soap, first shared that she was exploring a new relationship in June, when she revealed at the British Soap Awards that she was in the early days of "speaking to someone".

She followed this up with two cryptic Instagram posts in August. In one of these she shared some lyrics about love being a promise, while the other featured the words, 'Meeting you was like listening to a song for the first time and knowing it would be my favorite', which Shona captioned "Happier than ever..."

Shona has now shared a photo of herself with her new partner, musician David Bracken who is in the band Blessed, on her Instagram Stories.

In the photo, a glammed up Shona and David stand together looking at the camera, with a caption revealing that they attended a wedding together. Shona added the words, "My whole world" and tagged her partner.

She later shared the photo to her Instagram grid and captioned it, "My whole world xxxx", before following it up with another snap of the couple smiling for the camera and writing, "And then my soul saw you, and went.. 'Oh there you are!' 'I've been looking for you.'…
Totally obsessed… in a really healthy way..".

The actress' EastEnders co-stars shared their love for the sweet photos, with Jacqueline Jossa, who played Lauren Branning, commenting, "Love this for you", and Karen Taylor star Lorraine Stanley sharing a string of heart emojis.

Shona's followers were also delighted to get a glimpse into the star's new relationship, with one commenting, "Gorgeous! so happy for you Shona! X" and another writing, "Beautiful couple awww".

The actress' new romance comes after her split from co-star Max Bowden, who plays Ben Mitchell on the soap. The pair dated for a few months last year before parting ways, with Shona confirming that she and Max are still on great terms.

"We're actually better than ever. It's a friendship, we're in such a good place," she said earlier this year.

She added: "You take a risk and you do something, and it doesn't work out, but that's life. You've got to take that risk."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
