EastEnders' Kellie Bright and Danny Dyer enjoy off-screen reunion

EastEnders stars Kellie Bright and Danny Dyer enjoyed an off-screen reunion after their soap characters were brutally separated.

Kellie appears as Linda Carter in the BBC soap, while Danny starred as her husband Mick who was lost at sea in the 2022 Christmas episodes, with his character presumed dead.

Linda struggled to comprehend the loss, made even worse by the fact a body had never appeared.

Following Danny's exit from the soap, he has reunited with his onscreen wife in a meeting which she shared on Instagram.

The actors beamed for a selfie, with the caption: "A little photo of me and @officialdannydyer for all the Mick and Linda fans out there."

Co-star Charlie Brooks, who appeared as Janine Butcher in the show and who Danny saved from the ocean, jokingly commented that she was "not jealous at all" of their meetup.

Danny has been busy following his soap exit, with roles in the upcoming festive movie Christmas Karma as well as Mr Bigstuff and his own TV series How to Be a Man.

But he has seemingly left the door open for an EastEnders return, telling Radio Times last year: "I don't regret leaving, but it was really emotional for me. Mick's exit felt like a real 'full stop', but maybe it was a 'dot, dot, dot'."

Kellie, meanwhile, has seen Linda embroiled in yet another huge Christmas storyline as part of The Six, with Linda dealing the devastating blow to Keanu Taylor that saw him killed as he attacked wife Sharon Watts.

Linda, Sharon, Denise Fox, Stacey Slater, Suki Panesar, and Kathy Beale have worked together to cover his death, but with the discovery of Keanu's body, their nerves have been put to the test.

Kellie previously revealed her friend's shock that Linda was the Christmas day killer following months of speculation from fans.

"I did watch it at home on Christmas Day with my husband, my kids were in bed, finally, and my best friends were there," she said during an appearance on The One Show. "My husband knew but my best friends didn't, and they're huge fans.

"And I was literally sat on my sofa next to my friend, and he was going, 'Oh no! Oh no, no, no!', like he could stop me by holding my hand. It was a really lovely moment actually, to watch their reaction."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
