EastEnders spoilers follow from Thursday's (May 7) episode, which hasn't yet aired on BBC One.

EastEnders made a touching change in the closing credits for Yolande and Patrick's two-hander episode.

The couple took centre stage in Tuesday's edition (May 7), which saw Patrick learn that his partner Yolande was recently sexually assaulted by Pastor Clayton.

The emotional episode saw Yolande finally break her silence about the attack, as she opened up to Patrick about what she has been going through in silence over the past few weeks.

Patrick has grown increasingly concerned about the noticeable change in Yolande's behaviour recently and became convinced she was unwell.

Aware Patrick needed to know the truth, Yolande eventually got her friend Elaine to tell him over the phone.

As Patrick tried to process the news, he initially attempted to talk to Yolande, who had locked herself in the bathroom.

When Patrick's anger kicked in, he headed off to confront Pastor Clayton but a distressed Yolande managed to stop him.

Back at home, the pair discussed what Yolande has been through in powerful scenes.

By the end of the episode, Patrick was vowing to support Yolande, promising that nothing would ever change how he felt about her.

Emboldened by Patrick's support, Yolande insisted that she wouldn't be going to the police but would report Pastor Clayton to the church officials.

EastEnders then scrapped its usual closing credits, swapping them for a more poignant version of 'Can't Get By Without You' by The Real Thing.

This was played over a picture of happier times between Yolande and Patrick, as they prepared to face this difficult new journey together.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
